Leaders-in-Training (LIT)

June 23 - 28, 2024 CDT

- $475

Completed Grades 10-12

This 2-3 week program is a combination of leadership training, ministry education, and camp activities! It is specifically for high school campers, completed grades 10-12, who are interested in learning what it is like to serve on camp staff, and an application/interview process is required (see below).

Schedule

Week 1: June 23-28 (Cost: $475)

In 2024, LIT training will occur during High School Week, with the LITs participating in additional sessions in the afternoon. For High School Week, LITs will be lodged with their peers in duplex cabin groups*. LITs learn and practice leadership skills and tools to use at camp, in their home congregation, school, community, and future endeavors.

*Please note that due to the strenuous nature of both programs, campers who wish to be Night Owls will not be eligible for the LIT program.

Service Weeks: (no additional charge)

There is no additional charge for these additional weeks. For service weeks, LITs lodge in a cabin group with a Cabin Leader and a cabin group of younger campers, serving alongside the staff member.

For their service weeks, LITs will have the opportunity to list their preference for dates, and ideal dates will be chosen in consultation with the Camp Director:

    • Option 1: June 30 – July 3
    • Option 2: July 7 – 12
    • Option 3: July 21 – 26
    • Option 4: July 28 – August 2

LITs work with younger campers on-site or serve within the kitchen and maintenance areas under the guidance of a summer staff member. Second year LITs (LITY2s) may also be assigned to serve on one of our Day Camp teams.

LITs are expected to live as role models to campers and work with and be responsible to the summer staff to which they are assigned.
