An all inclusive program for adults age 55+. Enjoy three nights/four days of interactive Bible studies, pontoon rides, paddle sports, pickle ball, Tai Chi, campfires, card games, meaningful worship experiences and as much social time as you want! All activities are “choose your own adventure” so you can opt in on the things you like and take some extra freetime when that’s what you prefer. Lodging options include hotel style lodges and also duplexes (on a first come, first serve basis).
This week’s Camp Pastor will be Keith Kolstad. Rev. Dr. Keith Kolstad is a retired pastor serving as a parttime chaplain at Northland LutheranRetirement Community in Marinette, WI. Since his ordination in 1985, Pastor Keith has served congregations in the Northern Great Lakes Synod. Presently he assists congregations in our synod with Faithful Innovations. Throughout the years, Fortune Lake has been a beloved place for ministry and retreat, as well as a precious refuge for his family. Pastor Keith is married to Karen, who has been a part of Fortune Lake in a variety of ways. They have two children and two grandchildren who also call FLLC one of their homes.
Pr. Keith’s sessions will be entitled “Is There Anything New in Psalm 23?”
Maybe it was an embroidery hanging on the wall of your grandmother’s house. Maybe it was the favorite Bible passage of one of your Sunday School teachers. Maybe it was read at the funeral of a loved one. It is the Psalm of the day at least twice a year in our Lutheran churches. (It will be the Psalm for the Sunday following our gathering.) Psalm 23 can sometimes feel threadbare due to its familiarity. And yet, that same familiarity can sometimes become an obstacle to hearing God use these words in fresh and new ways. Like the pines and spruces and cedars, is there something “evergreen” within Psalm 23, something that can bring new energy to our faith today? In addition to dwelling in the Word with Psalm 23, we will explore some of its history, language, theology, and usage with the hope of having this beloved Psalm shed some new light on our faith and mission.
