Families of all ages

Intergenerational campers come in all shapes, sizes, ages. We have multi-generational families, Godparents and Godchildren, single adults, and grandparents and grandkids, and everything in between.

Our Intergenerational Camp program is all inclusive with meals, lodging, and quality Christ-centered activities for all ages led by energetic summer staff.

If you want to experience Jesus’s love in intentional community with your family, this program is for you! Our intergenerational camps build an excitement for God, create meaningful faith practices you can continue at home, and invite you to play together in God’s amazing creation. You have time to both relax AND create memories as a family! It might be the best vacation you’ll have together!

Here’s a taste of what our Intergenerational campers will enjoy: campfire worship, beach time, hikes, arts-n-drafts, outdoor games, fishing, boat rides, river tubing, s’mores, and stargazing. Morning Bible study groups will be broken down by age groups, and adults will be treated to a facilitator who will both inspire and challenge their faith while the kiddos engage with their peers.

There is so much outdoor fun to be had! New and old friends are welcome! Please join us and invite a friend.

Speakers:

Dawn and Jonathan Rundman were FLLC campers in the late ’70s and ’80s, and worked on FLLC staff in the late ’80s and early ’90s Dawn grew up at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba, and Jonathan grew up at Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming.

DR. DAWN RUNDMAN is Director of Congregational Development and Marketing at Augsburg Fortress Publishers, the publishing ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She is also the series editor for Mouth House books, a new series of books amplifying voices for change within the ELCA and beyond.

Additionally, she is the program director for the grant-funded Unbridled Presence program at Augsburg Fortress that is supported by Lilly Endowment’s Nurturing Children through Worship and Prayer initiative.

Wielding a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology, a fondness for innovative faith practices, deep love of wordsmithing, and several years as a summer camp counselor, Dawn believes intergenerational church communities can be hubs for healthy human development that nurture faith, build relationships, and reinforce vocation.

She teaches, speaks, and writes frequently about early childhood faith formation and has authored Little Steps, Big Faith: How the Science of Early Childhood Can Help You Grow Your Child’s Faith.

During intergenerational week, Dawn will guide you through some exciting findings about brain development in children. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, baptism sponsor, or congregational member committed to showing up, you can help provide faith formation experiences that help shape healthy brain development.

JONATHAN RUNDMAN is a Midwest-based songwriter, performer, and recording artist. His critically acclaimed songs have been highlighted in publications such as Billboard, The New York Times, and Christian Century, and have received radio airplay from coast to coast and in Europe.

Jonathan’s songs have been used as programmatic theme music for regional and national Youth Gatherings. His songs “By Grace We Have Been Saved” and “For Such A Time As This” appear in the new Lutheran hymnal supplement All Creation Sings. Congregations across the country use his Heartland Liturgy for their church services. He also wrote “Hymn For Fortune Lake” for the 80th anniversary of FLLC in 2010.

In 2022 Jonathan Rundman graduated from Luther Seminary, and now serves as Pastor of Worship and Music at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, in Prior Lake, MN.

Jonathan will lead the adults through a Lutheranism series, using Daniel Erlander’s Baptized We Live book. He’ll touch on Lutheran theology, history, and music.
