All are welcome for a Talent Show and Campfire at Fortune Lake!

Everyone is invited to a camp-style Talent Show and Campfire on Friday, August 4 at Fortune Lake! The event will start at 6:30pm CT in the Chapel and will feature music, skits, dance, jokes, and more shared by the Fortune Lake Staff and those gathered. After the talent show, we’ll moved to a campfire site (weather permitting) for camp songs and s’mores.
All are welcome! A freewill offering will be taken in support of Summer Staff Scholarships. Call or email 906-214-2267 or campdirector@fortunelake.org to RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
If you would like to make overnight accommodations at Fortune Lake, rental rates will apply. Please contact Charlotte at hospitality@fortunelake.org to make arrangements.

S’more Room in August 6-9 Camp!

Join us at camp August 6-9!

We still have s’more room in our final youth program of the summer, and we’d be thrilled to fill the spots with fun-loving kids! There’s 2-night Mighty Ones for kiddos grades 1-2*, 3-night Mini Camp for those grades 2-3*, or 3-night Mash Ups for those grades 4-8*.
As we wind down the summer, we’ll be cranking up the faith-filled fun! Help us spread the word and fill the camp! Visit http://fortunelake.org/summer-camp/youth/ to learn more. Registration will remain open through August 3 or until the programs fill.

Annual Meeting in ON

Fortune Lake’s Annual business meeting is ON for today and will take place in the chapel. Rostered leaders and voting delegates from association congregations are encouraged to exercise caution and take extra time to travel if they choose to attend. Those who are not able to attend can tune into the livestream of the meeting on Facebook by following the link below. Voting will not be able to occur via Facebook.

One Wonderful Day Recording now available!

Wish you could’ve attended the performance of the original musical “One Wonderful Day”? Wish you could relive the memories of that wonderful day?  You can!

Written and produced by camp staff alumni, this original musical is a love letter to Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp and God’s work in this Place of Grace. It incorporates classic camp songs with original orchestral arrangements and choreography to tell the story of a day in the life of Fortune Lake on the stage. One Wonderful Day was rehearsed in only one short week by an enthusiastic, intergenerational group of campers. It was performed at the historic Crystal Theatre in downtown Crystal Falls on August 6, 2022. We hope it brings back fond memories of Fortune Lake for you.

CoVantage Cares Update

Giving Tuesday Matching Gift Campaign

Wonderful News: Fortune Lake was selected as the Crystal Falls recipient for the 2022 CoVantage Cares Foundation Inc, Giving Tuesday Campaign! We had two weeks to fundraise, and the incredible Fortune Lake community showed up in BIG ways!

Together our camp community raised $141,409.89 and the CoVantage Cares matched $77,107 for a TOTAL of $218,517.40! The money will be used to update our highest use buildings – duplexes, Emanuel Lodge, and the Dining Hall – making them more energy efficient and accessible and ensuring they’ll be usable for many years into the future.

We blew our goal of $160,000 out of the water! We are grateful to the God of abundance who has blessed this effort and to all of you who participated! THANK YOU to our donors, our Regional Event Coordinators, campers and staff alumni, supporting businesses, and our Association congregations!

Fall Fest 2022 Thank You!

Through the LIVE event and the Virtual Auction we raised a total of $20,923.49 in Fall Fest 2022!
Thank you to all who donated handmade crafts and quilts for Auction or Country Store, baked goodies for the Bake Sale, purchased Draffle tickets, or bid in the LIVE and Virtual Auctions! A special thanks to our Sisters of the Cloth who work all year long to make sure Fall Fest is filled with beautiful, festive items! Together you all are supporting the ongoing ministry needs of Fortune Lake and helping to make camp accessible to all. We thank God for you!

 

Senior Days for 2022-23 Announced

Fortune Lake is proud to continue the tradition of Senior Days for the elders in our region. This year’s dates have been selected. Mark your calendars and make plans to join us!

  • Monday, November 14: Traditional Thanksgiving Meal
  • Monday, January 16: Program TBD
  • Monday, March 13: Program TBD
  • Monday, May 8: Program TBD
Each Senior Day begins at 10 am CT and wraps up by 2pm CT. The program varies but generally includes the following:
  • 10 am – Arrival and check-in, coffee and fellowship time
  • 10:15 am – Devotion & announcements
  • 10:30 am – Presentation morning session
  • 12:00 pm – Lunch
  • 1:00 pm – Presentation afternoon session

Suggested donation of $10 covers the cost of lunch. Please RSVP by the Friday before each event by calling 906-214-2267 or emailed hospitality@fortunelake.org
