DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 9-12\nHigh School campers will have Fortune Lake to themselves! \nPrograms run simultaneously so campers choose their favorite and still interact with the other high schoolers. Highlights include the unique camper-led worship services\, a visit to the ropes course at Covenant Point\, night games\, friendships that last\, and special surprises! \nChoose one of two programs: \nOld School\nStay in duplexes or Village cabins with dining hall meals. Hang out in our highest comfort cabins\, get to know campers and staff\, ask hard questions\, and take on a one-night tent or hammock overnight. This classic camp program has a little bit of everything with more autonomy for our oldest youth campers. You won’t want to the week to come to an end! \n*Please note that LIT campers will also stay in duplexes or Village cabins with Old School campers. \nNight Owls\nStay in treehouses with campfire cooking. This program is perfect for those who are naturally night persons (or want to be for a week)! They’ll work up the all-nighter\, complete with sunrise sauna and polar bear swim. They’ll keep their own unique schedule with later nights and later mornings including lots of night-time activities. In this program\, relationships are real and lasting. Bible studies are authentic and in-depth. God’s word and creation are explored and experienced. Lives are enriched. Most everything is funny. Memories are made. \nSr High youth groups are welcome\, and pastors are encouraged to attend with their youth. Vagabonds sleep in rustic* tree houses outfitted with bunk beds. \nOur Vagabond program teaches valuable skills about living in community. Campers gain self-esteem and confidence as they help to prepare many of their own meals over an open fire. Ask any Vagabond about their tree house group’s Vagland stew… I bet it was the best! Vagland is is also home to Fortune Lake’s gaga pit and carpetball game\, so many hours are spent honing their skills. \nHighlights of the program include a tube trip on the Paint River (conditions permitting)\, Vagland chapel services\, and special night games. Tree houses fill up quickly for this popular program! \nThis program runs concurrently with the half-week Mini Camp\, Villagers\, and Venturers\, so it’s perfect for sending sibling groups at the same time. They’ll learn to come together as a group with kids they don’t know while navigating new experiences together. Typical highlights include giggling in the cabin\, savoring snacks from the canteen\, devouring s’mores at the beach party\, and making projects in arts-n-crafts. They will come home with a pile of dirty laundry\, sharing stories from camp and the Bible! \n*Please note that this is the first program during which campers are eligible to take the swim test. Those who pass have the opportunity to swim in the deep end. It’s a major milestone and achievement for many campers. However\, there is still plenty of fun to be had in the shallow end\, sand\, and on watercraft for campers who do not opt to take the swim test or do not pass. DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 4-8\nWant to try youth camp\, but still feeling a little tentative? Finding that your summer schedule makes it difficult to sneak away for five nights? This three-night program is perfect for those extra busy kids\, or for campers who want a taste of Fortune Lake but aren’t ready for the full week experience. \nCampers enjoy all that our various camp programs have to offer\, all mashed up together! They’ll swim\, create\, play\, hike\, and do Bible activities as a group. They’ll get the highlights of other major programs including a tube trip on the Paint River\, campfire cooking\, and an opportunity to interact with the Vagabonds\, who are the other big kids onsite. \nMash Up campers will stay two nights in duplex cabins\, which have in-cabin bathrooms and a gathering space. They’ll have one special tenting overnight on a more rustic section of Fortune Lake’s property. This allows the campers to get the best of both worlds! DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 7-8\n \nFortune Lake provides exactly what Junior High campers need: adventure\, challenge\, acceptance\, and time to grapple with deep questions of faith in the midst of having fun! \nVenturers lodge in our duplex cabins that contain in-cabin bathrooms and a comfortable space to gather as a group. Campers especially enjoy time with old and new friends as well as cabin leaders who love to hang out with them! They live it up with a whole week of activities\, many of which they’ll get to choose — including arts-n-crafts\, stops at the canteen\, active games\, beach fun\, fishing\, and watercraft. They’ll close each day with a campfire\, which they’ll help to lead. A tent or hammock camping adventure solidifies the bonds within the cabin group and provides all sorts of great stories to bring home. \nWe LOVE our Venturers! \nConfirmation groups are welcome\, and pastors are encouraged to attend with their youth. DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades K – 5\nExplore all the fun of camp without staying overnight. This is a great opportunity to introduce local youth to camp!\n \nOffered:\n\nJuly 20 – 23\nJuly 27 – 30\n\nFour action-packed days include chapel\, lunch\, games\, swimming\, Bible activities\, picnics\, crafts\, and more! Campers stay with the same group all week\, led by experienced staff members who know how to engage them in fun opportunities meant to grow their faith and sense of wonder. Their days will be full\, spent almost exclusively outside\, playing active community-building games\, splashing in the shallow end at the beach (under the supervision of certified lifeguards)\, making themed projects at arts-n-crafts\, and building friendships with other local kids. They’ll come home exhausted\, but wake up wanting to return! \nSchedule:\n\nCamp runs 9 am to 5 pm\, Monday – Thursday (no Friday session)\nThe week will conclude with a short program on Thursday at 4:30 celebrating the campers’ experiences\n\nMore Information:\n\nYouth Camp Guide\n\n\nPrice:\n\n$140/person\n\nPlease note: Please note: we never wish to turn away anyone for financial reasons.
