SUMMARY:Leaders-in-Training (LIT)
DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 10-12\nThis 2-3 week program is a combination of leadership training\, ministry education\, and camp activities! It is specifically for high school campers\, completed grades 10-12\, who are interested in expanding their leadership experienc and learning what it is like to serve on camp staff. An application/interview process is required (see below). \nSchedule\nWeek 1: June 21-26\nLITs learn and practice leadership skills and tools to use at camp\, in their home congregation\, school\, community\, and future endeavors. A highlight is a trip to Covenant Point’s ropes course. \nService Weeks: (no additional charge)\nFor service weeks\, campers will have the opportunity to list their preference for dates from the options below\, and ideal dates will be chosen by the Camp Director: \n\n\n\nOption 1: June 28 – July 1\nOption 2: July 5 – 8\nOption 3: July 12 – 17\nOption 4: July 19 – 24\nOption 5: July 26 – 31\n\n\n\nThere is no additional charge for these additional weeks.  \nLITs work with younger campers onsite or serve within the kitchen and maintenance areas under the direct supervision and guidance of a summer staff member. \n2nd year LITs may also be assigned to serve on one of our Day Camp teams. LITs are expected to live as role models to campers and work with and be responsible to the summer staff to which they are assigned. \nMore general camp information: \n\nYouth & Specialty Camp Guide\n\n\nPrice:\n\n$515/person\n\n\nApplication / Registration\n\nThe LIT program is limited to 12 participants. LITs must complete an application and submit two professional/spiritual references. DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 3-9\nThis week of camp is for those who love to be creative! \nArt Camp is a unique blend of art and traditional camp activities. Campers will still enjoy many of the fun things camp has to offer like swimming\, chapel\, Bible activities\, games\, canteen and campfires. They’ll also spend a large chunk of their day focusing on art! \nSkilled volunteer art instructors and summer staff teach techniques and oversee projects while campers use different media to create art and express themselves! Projects may include clay\, drawing\, painting\, beadwork\, or textiles. This program takes special campers\, and we sure love our Night Owls! \nDue to popular demand\, there will be TWO Jr. High Night Owl sessions in 2026! SUMMARY:Evergreen Camp
DESCRIPTION:For Adults age 55+\nAn all inclusive program for adults age 55+. This program is “Choose Your Own Adventure\,”  meaning participants partake in the activities of interest to them. Enjoy three nights/four days of interactive presenters\, pontoon rides\, paddle sports\, pickle ball\, Tai Chi\, campfires\, card games\, meaningful worship experiences and as much social time as you want! \n2024 was the first year for Evergreen Camp\, and participants had a fantastic time! Now our staff can’t wait for our Evergreen campers to return and bring their friends for our third consecutive year. \nMore Information:\n\nEvergreen Camp Guide\n\n\nCamp Pastor\nEvergreen Bible Study Leader\, Pastor Sharolyn Swenson is the NGLS Assistant to the Bishop and Director of Evangelical Mission. She grew up in central Texas\, as a life-long Lutheran\, and moved to the UP in January of 2025. She continues to delight in God’s wit and wisdom in the seasons\, snow\, forests\, lakes\, moss\, creatures and people of her new home.  \nSharolyn has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture\, a graduate certificate in the Spiritual Guidance of Children (General Seminary of the Episcopal Church); a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary\, and spent a “Lutheran Year” at Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.  Her lifelong love of ecology\, creation care\, gardening\, and camping\, continue to reveal God’s unity and diversity of life. She has been a Godly Play storyteller\, practitioner\, and trainer since 1996\, when the oldest of her three daughters was two. Listening to God and God’s children\, continues to inform her vocational path of new adventures.  \nThe Evergreen bible study time will expand on the theme of being clothed with compassion\, kindness\, humility\, quiet strength\, and discipline…woven together in garments\, tents\, and armor\, and those who make them. If you have a special item of clothing…a lucky sweatshirt or socks…wear it! If you have a cherished heirloom garment\, bring it!
