DESCRIPTION:Senior Day is a wonderful way to reconnect with old friends and make a few new ones along the way. Come and join us for a day of conversation\, delicious food\, and fun! \nDates:\n\nMonday\, September 9: Foraging at Fortune Lake\nPastor Soren Schmidt will teach about identifying local flora\, what is safe to use and eat\, and more. We’ll all discover how to further enjoy nature’s bounty!\nMonday\, November 18: Thanksgiving Meal\nTogether we’ll prepare\, cook\, and feast on a homemade spread for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Come prepared to peel\, chop\, and enjoy the tastes of the season\, all in great company!\nMonday\, January 13: Local historian Bill Cummings shares his thorough research on the history of the Ku Klux Klan in this region\nMonday\, March 10: Craig Kitchen invites us to experience the wonders of singing bowls and gongs.\nMonday\, May 12: Tesha Perez Soto shares about Mexican culture\, and we share in an authentic Mexican lunch\n\nEach Senior Day begins at 10 am CT and wraps up by 2pm CT. The program varies but generally includes the following: \n\n10:00 am – Arrival and check-in\, coffee and fellowship time\n10:15 am – Devotion & announcements\n10:30 am – Presentation morning session\n12:00 pm – Lunch\n1:00 pm – Presentation afternoon session\n\n$15 donation* per participant is requested to cover the cost of food. \n* The suggested donation has increased to cover the increasing cost of food and kitchen labor. SUMMARY:Disconnect to Reconnect: Junior/Senior High Retreat
DESCRIPTION:This retreat has been postponed from it’s original dates of February 4-5 to April 22-23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.\nFor Grades 7-12\nTechnology is everywhere these days\, there’s just no way around it. Fortune Lake invites youth currently in grades 7-12 to take a break from screens and join us at camp for an unplugged retreat. \nThis one night retreat will be held April 22-23 and will feature Bible Studies\, games\, and camp style activities designed to encourage attendees to disconnect from their electronics and reconnect with the people around them. \nAdult chaperones are encouraged to attend. This helps build relationships with your youth outside of your church walls. Please contact the office to begin the registration process and select lodging options: 906-214-2267. \nNew Registration Deadline: April 15\, 2022 by 5 pm CST\n \n\nDetails\nSchedule: Check-in Friday night at 6 pm CST. The retreat will conclude at 4 pm CST on Saturday. \nMeals: A snack will be provided on Friday night as well as breakfast\, lunch\, and a snack on Saturday. Please call the office at least one week in advance to notify us about food allergies and also describe on registration form. \nLodging: \n\nYouth attendees will lodge in duplex cabins.\nYouth group leaders may lodge in duplexes or in one of our retreat lodges by request.\n\nPlease bring: Comfortable weather-appropriate clothing (we will be spending time outside) and footwear\, personal toiletries\, flashlights\, Bibles etc! Please do not bring valuables or personal electronic devices – including phones.\n \n\nRegistration\nCost includes lodging\, programming\, and meals:  \n\n$60 / person\nFortune Lake welcomes all participants!
