SUMMARY:Made in God's Image: An Anti-Racism Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Please note the new dates for this retreat: February 27 – March 1\nFor adults\nAll are invited to attend our Made in God’s Image Anti-racism Retreat at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp! The retreat will take place at Fortune Lake February 27 – March 1\, 2026. There are a variety of lodging options available. \nThis retreat is an opportunity to engage in intentional conversation around anti-racism. Our program will approach this complex topic through Bible Studies that will ground our work in Scripture\, sessions pertaining to our own biases and how we exist within the structure of systemic racism\, opportunities to listen to the experiences of others\, and resources and discussion about what anti-racism work looks like in our own settings. We will also employ a small group cohort model throughout the weekend to encourage participants to process what they are learning. \nOur theme\, “Made in God’s Image\,” intends to center the inherent belovedness of each person\, not in spite of their intersecting identities\, but in celebration of them. For more information about Fortune Lake’s welcome of all people\, please refer to our Welcome Statement. \nAre you a clergy person that needs to be in your congregational setting by Sunday morning? DESCRIPTION:Senior Day is a wonderful way to reconnect with old friends and make a few new ones along the way. Come and join us for a day of conversation\, delicious food\, and fun! \nDates:\n\nMonday\, September 8: Christian Nationalism\nPr. Dave Van Kley will share on the pertinent topic of Christian Nationalism: What it is\, how to identify it\, and how we are called to respond as Lutheran Christians.\nMonday\, November 17: Thanksgiving Meal\nTogether we’ll prepare\, cook\, and feast on a homemade spread for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Come prepared to peel\, chop\, and enjoy the tastes of the season\, all in great company!\nMonday\, January 12: Topic TBD\nMonday\, March 9: Topic TBD\nMonday\, May 11: Topic TBD\n\nEach Senior Day begins at 10 am CT and wraps up by 2pm CT. The program varies but generally includes the following: \n\n10:00 am – Arrival and check-in\, coffee and fellowship time\n10:15 am – Devotion & announcements\n10:30 am – Presentation morning session\n12:00 pm – Lunch\n1:00 pm – Presentation afternoon session\n\n$15 donation* per participant is requested to cover the cost of food. \n* The suggested donation is to cover the increasing cost of food and kitchen labor. SUMMARY:Renew & Restore: Young Adult Retreat
DESCRIPTION:For Young Adults (Ages 18-35\, must be HS grad)\n \nFortune Lake invites all adults ages 18-35* to our Renew & Restore Young Adult Retreat! This unique retreat provides an opportunity to unplug from the busyness of daily life to rest and recharge. \nOur retreat schedule will include sessions pertaining to the many facets of self care\, opportunities to spend time in the natural beauty of Fortune Lake\, self-guided activities such as arts ‘n’ crafts and saunas\, optional worships\, and a community-centric approach to the weekend. While our full schedule is still developing\, highlights from years past include snowshoe hikes\, singing bowl and gong baths\, workshops about burnout\, various sessions about mindfulness\, games and conversation in the evenings\, and a collaborative campfire worship. \nOur adult retreats lean into a “choose your own adventure” model\, meaning we encourage participants to attend sessions that resonate with them and take advantage of the myriad of self-guided activities available throughout the weekend. This retreat is intended to send people away with a renewed sense of energy and more insight into how to better care for themselves.
