DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 3-4\nOffered: \n\nJuly 5 – 10\nJuly 12 – 17\n\nVillagers experience a full week at camp. They sleep in bunk beds in our Village cabins with a trained Cabin Leader and a group of other same aged campers. With opportunities for swimming*\, boating\, playing games\, arts-n-crafts\, a beach party\, and singing songs\, campers will stay active from morning ‘til night! \nA week as a Villager will help your child grow in faith\, build friendships\, gain confidence and learn independence. They’ll learn to come together as a group with kids they don’t know while navigating new experiences together. Typical highlights include giggling in the cabin\, savoring snacks from the canteen\, devouring s’mores at the beach party\, and making projects in arts-n-crafts. They will come home with a pile of dirty laundry\, sharing stories from camp and the Bible! \n*Please note that this is the first program during which campers are eligible to take the swim test. Those who pass have the opportunity to swim in the deep end. It’s a major milestone and achievement for many campers. However\, there is still plenty of fun to be had in the shallow end\, sand\, and on watercraft for campers who do not opt to take the swim test or do not pass. DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 5-6\n \nOffered: \n\nJune 28 – July 1 (Half Week)\nJuly 5 – 10 (Full Week)\nJuly 12 – 17 (Full Week)\n\nVagabonds experience camp the way it was meant to be – in the great outdoors! Vagabonds sleep in rustic* treehouses outfitted with bunk beds. Our Vagabond program teaches valuable skills about living in community. Campers gain self-esteem and confidence as they help to prepare many of their own meals over an open fire. Ask any Vagabond about their treehouse group’s Vagland stew… I bet it was the best! Vagland is is also home to Fortune Lake’s gaga pit and carpetball game\, so many hours are spent honing their skills. \nHighlights of the program include a tube trip on the Paint River (conditions permitting)\, Vagland chapel services\, and special night games. DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 7-8\n \nFortune Lake provides exactly what Junior High campers need: adventure\, challenge\, acceptance\, and time to grapple with deep questions of faith in the midst of having fun! \nVenturers lodge in our duplex cabins that contain in-cabin bathrooms and a comfortable space to gather as a group. Campers especially enjoy time with old and new friends as well as cabin leaders who love to hang out with them! They live it up with a whole week of activities\, many of which they’ll get to choose — including arts-n-crafts\, stops at the canteen\, active games\, beach fun\, fishing\, and watercraft. They’ll close each day with a campfire\, which they’ll help to lead. A tent or hammock camping adventure solidifies the bonds within the cabin group and provides all sorts of great stories to bring home. \nWe LOVE our Venturers! \nConfirmation groups are welcome\, and pastors are encouraged to attend with their youth.
