She was the camp’s health officer; Fortune Lake proved to be her life-saver.
When George was a young man in seminary, he was approached by the pastor he was serving under, Pr. Granquist, about serving at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp as a counselor. George’s first thought was, “I’m not going.” It seems as though the Holy Spirit had other plans.
Fortune Lake has been a part of my life for almost 40 years (YIKES!) and I look forward to 40 more! I believe whole heartedly in the Fortune Lake experience and attribute much of who I am today to the experiences I had at camp. The reason I became part of the Tenacious 200 is to help a place that has helped me so much continue to help others.
I am a Tenacious 200 donor because camp has done so much for me in my life. Fortune Lake has a special place in my heart; it is one of my favorite place to be since I was a little kid. My first summer as a mini camper I knew camp was special. After that half week, I knew I was going to work at camp.
As summer draws closer, we are asking for your help in fulfilling our Amazon Wishlist. It’s with help from wonderful people like you that we’ll be able to have the best summer ever!
We are excited to share these wonderful notecards with all of you. Painted originally by Paul Oman, these beautiful summer and fall designs showcase the allure of Fortune Lake at its finest.

Summer 2020 looks a lot different at Fortune Lake. However God’s love for you–and our love for you–remain the same! Hear greetings from summer staffers, as they express their care for you, the hopes for your summer, and their faith in Jesus.
Programs will kick off on June 14. We’re preparing for live campfires, fun arts-n-crafts projects, ways to explore God’s creation in your own backyard, and even a live virtual talent show! Each week, a new program to experience the Bible in new ways will be available to you, right in your own home!
