Generations of Grace

Melissa and Caroline returned for an Intergenerational week, and Melissa found what she had always experienced — grace, made especially meaningful in her mom’s absence, to be able to continue this tradition of camp and faith with her own daughter.

Volunteers Wanted

We are seeking volunteers to help us prepare our facilities for the quickly approaching summer! All people, skills sets, and abilities are welcome. We need our outdoor spaces raked, buildings deep cleaned, and wood moved and split.

God’s Faithfulness to All Generations

From her youth, Christina remembered “the connection that you never lose” to the people at Fortune Lake, and she longed for that experience again. She values the passing on the teachings of Jesus to her children and the inclusivity of all God’s people.

One Connection at a Time

Coming out of a year of lockdowns and restrictions, Paavo missed both the physical space at Fortune Lake as well as being a part of the community. In the midst of a meaningful Leader-in-Training experience he realized the need to make connections with his campers and to love every person that came to camp.

An Invitation to Community

When Josh first came to camp it was High School Week, and he did not want to be here. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves; everyone except Josh. After an invitation from two campers to join in the experience, things began to shift for Josh.

Effective Camp Research Project

We have received a grant from the Effective Camp Research Project/Siebert Foundation. The grant will support a unique research project at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp this summer to demonstrate the impact of a one week camp experience on campers ages 10-17.
