SUMMARY:Made in God's Image: An Anti-Racism Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Please note the new dates for this retreat: February 27 – March 1\nFor adults\nAll are invited to attend our Made in God’s Image Anti-racism Retreat at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp! The retreat will take place at Fortune Lake February 27 – March 1\, 2026. There are a variety of lodging options available. \nThis retreat is an opportunity to engage in intentional conversation around anti-racism. Our program will approach this complex topic through Bible Studies that will ground our work in Scripture\, sessions pertaining to our own biases and how we exist within the structure of systemic racism\, opportunities to listen to the experiences of others\, and resources and discussion about what anti-racism work looks like in our own settings. We will also employ a small group cohort model throughout the weekend to encourage participants to process what they are learning. \nOur theme\, “Made in God’s Image\,” intends to center the inherent belovedness of each person\, not in spite of their intersecting identities\, but in celebration of them. For more information about Fortune Lake’s welcome of all people\, please refer to our Welcome Statement. \nAre you a clergy person that needs to be in your congregational setting by Sunday morning? Please contact the camp office by calling (906) 214-2267 or emailing hospitality@fortunelake.org to discuss your options. We want as many people as possible to attend this retreat\, regardless of their schedule.  \nThis retreat is intended for all people\, no matter their racial or ethnic identity\, though Fortune Lake recognizes that white people most often have more work to do when it comes to walking alongside their siblings of color. Our hope is that all people will come away from this retreat feeling like they have a better understanding of their own biases. If you are interested in attending this retreat but are unsure if it’s for you\, please contact the camp office for more details.  \n  \n\n\n\nPrices\n\n\n\n\nLodge (Double + Occupancy): $200\nDuplex: $165\nCommuter: $90\n\nRegistration\n\nOpens: Now!\nCloses: February 20 @ 11:59 PM CST

SUMMARY:Jr. High Night Owl
DESCRIPTION:Completed Grades 6-8\nOffered: \n\nJuly 19 – 24\nJuly 26 – 31\n\nCampers sleep all day in the tree houses and play all night! As the week goes on\, they’ll gradually stay up later and later until experiencing an all-nighter on Wednesday. That unique opportunity ends with a sunrise sauna and polar bear swim. Moonlit adventures include stargazing\, lunch at midnight\, private late night arts-n-crafts sessions\, and canteen at unusual hours. This program takes special campers\, and we sure love our Night Owls! \nDue to popular demand\, there will be TWO Jr. High Night Owl sessions in 2026!
Then\, campers try to reset their sleep patterns before heading home on Friday! \nA week as a Night Owl increases self-confidence as campers cook over an open fire\, explore camp at night\, and make new friends. Older campers who love this program can participate in Sr. High Night Owls June 21-26. \nConfirmation groups are welcome\, and pastors are encouraged to attend with their youth. Contact our office for more information on special congregational arrangements. \nMore Information:\n\nYouth Camp Guide\n\n\nPrice:\n\n$485/person\n\nPlease note: We never wish to turn away anyone for financial reasons. This retreat has both 2-night and 3-night options\, meaning participants can choose to attend Friday through Sunday or Thursday through Sunday for an extended retreat experience. Fortune Lake is thrilled to once again partner with Pam Roose of Inspiring Roots\, LLC to bring you this year’s program. \nPam will explore the theme The Peace Connection with the group\, inspired by the peaceful surroundings at Fortune Lake. Our schedule will provide opportunities to learn about the importance of digestive wellness and the health of our gut microbiome. Together we’ll delve into nutrition\, learn about the benefits of incorporating fermented foods into our diet\, practice healthy movement\, and explore how to fuel our bodies through stress. Other highlights will include yoga sessions\, optional massages\, delicious food\, crafting\, nature hikes\, swimming and kayaking\, hot saunas\, and more!  \nOur adult retreats feature a “choose your own adventure” model\, meaning that participants are encouraged to attend sessions that resonate with them and enjoy the amenities of Fortune Lake when that’s what they need from their retreat experience. The schedule from the 2025 retreat has been included below to provide a look at the flow of the retreat. Though we have some new surprises in store for this year\, our schedule will look very similar to this one. \n \nQuestions about the retreat should be directed to our Guest Services Coordinator\, Charlotte\, by emailing hospitality@fortunelake.org or calling the camp office at (906)214-2267. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring active clothing\, a yoga mat if they have one\, a swimsuit and towel for sauna/swimming\, and some other supplies that will be outlined over email prior to the event. \nSchedule:  Check-in Thursday 6:00 pm CT; retreat will conclude Sunday 11 am CT. A more detailed schedule will be provided prior to arrival. \nConsidering the extra day but unsure if it’s for you?  \nParticipants of the 4-day experience will enjoy additional instruction from Pam based around the theme\, an off-site hike\, and additional workshop about energetic awareness and connecting to nature\, and more time to enjoy the beauty of Fortune Lake. This option also provides more time to explore items that will be offered all weekend long such as time on the waterfront\, delicious meals\, yoga\, massage\, and more. \nMeals*: An evening snack will be provided Thursday evening; breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner on Friday and Saturday\, breakfast on Sunday.   \n*Please notify us at least one week in advance about any food allergies\, and include details on your registration/health form. \nTo bring: Comfortable weather-appropriate active clothing and footwear\, a yoga mat (if available)\, swimsuit\, towel\, personal toiletries\, flashlight\, and bedding if necessary.
